CES 2023 Booth Design

In 2023, I led the design and execution of Buzz TV's booth at the CES conference in Las Vegas. My role encompassed developing the booth concept, designing the layout and visuals, and creating engaging content deliverables. I was also responsible for scheduling and overseeing the entire execution process, ensuring that every detail was meticulously planned and seamlessly implemented. This project showcased my ability to blend creative design with strategic execution, delivering an impactful and memorable presence at one of the industry's premier events.

The planning stages for our CES booth commenced six months in advance, beginning in the summer of 2021. The objective was to create a captivating 20x20 foot island booth that would command attention in the heart of the Las Vegas Convention Center's central hall. Our company comprises three primary divisions: BuzzTV, specializing in Android TV boxes; Signworks, focusing on digital signage hardware built upon our Android box technology; and our OEM division, which white-labels BuzzTV boxes for other brands.

To optimize foot traffic and booth visibility, careful consideration was given to the surrounding booths and the overall layout of the convention center. The ultimate goal was to create a booth that not only captured attention but also effectively communicated our company's message.

Inspiration/Feel

To foster a welcoming atmosphere, the core of the booth was designed to resemble a living room setting. This inviting space encouraged visitors to engage with our products in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Design Planning

While working on a booth design for CES, I began by mapping out key areas within the space to strategically plan the flow and engagement points. From there, I focused on deciding the type of branding that would best represent our identity while ensuring it was impactful and memorable. This also involved curating content that would capture attention, spark interest, and effectively communicate our key messages to the CES audience. Balancing aesthetics with functionality was crucial to creating a cohesive and engaging booth experience.

To cater to the specific needs of our OEM and Signworks divisions, two distinct wings were incorporated into the booth layout. This strategic segmentation allowed for focused interactions with customers from each division. A prominent main stand was positioned at the booth's entrance to capture the attention of passing foot traffic and draw visitors into the exhibit.

The back wall of the booth served a dual purpose. Primarily, it was designed to attract attendees from the adjacent cafeteria area with a compelling slogan. Secondarily, it aimed to provide potential customers with essential product information, streamlining the sales process. Given the overwhelming scale of CES, this strategy was crucial for efficiently qualifying leads and maximizing engagement with serious buyers.
