Fruit Display

IDEATION
We analyzed various fruits, their packaging, and their natural tones of color. Our idea was to incorporate the netting used in some fruit packaging into a display product.
Through exploration, we gradually transitioned to using bent metal tubing as a frame and experimented with various forms. The circular frame emerged as the most sympathetic to the natural shapes of fruit, while also providing a strong and supportive structure.
FUNCTION
The cotton netting provides a gentle and ventilated surface that keeps your fruit fresh for longer and prevents bruising. The fabric is removable and can be washed. The cap is made of plastic, snapping over the frame to hold the cotton netting securely in place.
MATERIAL
The netting is made of cotton and can be dyed to any color—from vibrant yellows that mimic plastic net bags to a subtle white that lets the fruit's natural colors shine. The steel frame can be finished with various methods, such as powder coating or chrome plating, giving consumers options.
The frame is welded together, while the cap will be an extrusion.
